Like all novels like this, there are some that you might like but gradually get bored of, but when you read it again after a while, you still like the novel. This one is not one of those. The novel is free on jjwxc so you can read it there. This is about a guy who transmigrated to this beast continent and the first person to see him is the ML who took him home to make him his mate. The chapters are extremely short so you can finish the novel in a day if you have nothing else to do. I started reading this yesterday and I decided to take a break and continue with it today. At first, I found it quite amusing, but then it became annoying.A particular character made it difficult for me to read and the MC's personality just became flat as we approached the end.The romance started well even though the feelings from the ML felt shallow to me. I mean who sees a total stranger appear in front of them and thinks that's their destined one?As the plot went on I felt like the ML and MC just got together because of the plot. I could feel the care and respect but at some point, it became shallow and cliché.The possessiveness of the ML is sometimes unbearable but understanding. The MC is practically babied throughout the novel. The plot is scattered as sometimes the author says one thing and forgets about it and only mentions it in passing next time. Take for example.Spoiler
One time the MC was thinking about making cotton clothes for the people to wear during the summer and after mentioning it we never or at least I never read where the MC started making those clothes and instead, it was just mentioned in passing. I was curious if they did make those clothes or not and I never got to know. Maybe it just got lost in MTL
[collapse]Another example was when the author kept putting various foreshadowings regarding the small cannon villains but got ignored for like another ten chapters before we hear from those characters with nothing except just them behaving s*upidly. The annoying character Xiao Kai is my least favourite character in this novel. I don't know what the author was thinking with this character but I couldn't bring myself to like him one bit. He's rude, rash and tsundere (my least favourite personality). The other characters although fine, were just flat. You would think that with the whole possessiveness of each, male beast there would be a common rule against intrusion of privacy but nope. The enthusiasm of the characters just kept getting annoying as time went on with every new thing the protagonist brought. You would think with there being previous examples they would just be surprised but move on to implement.I don't think I will be finishing this as I'm almost at the end and I am getting signs of what I dislike the most in mpreg. The rivalry between father and son for the MC. I think that there's only been two novel I've read that really have fathers who love their sons and sons who definitely feel like and know they have two parents. This novel had a lot of potential to be good but was rushed and with very few words in a chapter.Of all the complaints, this novel is not technically bad. The MC wasn't selfish and shared what he knew with his tribe and others. Everyone was nice and friendly. The novel has a warm and cosy feeling. Camaraderie and love was present. It's just some of the things I had a problem with could have made this a 4* novel. If you are interested, then please read a few chapters and decide if you might want to continue.
