I do not understand how some people consider self-defense "senseless killing." Most Xuanhuan, Xianxia, Wuxia novels are established where the strong are allowed to kill the weak with no repercussions. Most Chinese novels have sects, clans, etc, as prideful and arrogant. If they are after your life, defeating them will not stop them. Therefore, Jian Chen needs to remove his enemies completely. It was also one of Sun Tzu's laws, and the MC happens to be following that law. Edit: I will agree with some reviews that the story has focused on the MC being chased by enemies several different times. Also, he seems to have forgotten to cultivate to become stronger after several chapters.Edit 2: I am done with the story, the MC makes questionable decisions. For example, he decides to leave the girl that had his back before he became strong and popular and chooses a girl that wanted to have someone castrate MC.
