Battle Angel Alita Chapter 13 Discussion

This chapter reminds of the game I played a while back for some reason (Roller Champions)

What the hell is Alita having this fit for man, projecting this shit on my goat Ido, so ungrateful.

----------------------------------------

With this chapter, we get into the material that was not in the anime version. After Hugo's death Alita has went missing. Ido, looking for his "daughter" finds her as the newest player in a dangerous sport named "motorball" and she is already making waves. She has discarded the beserker armor and seems to wish to forget her short past with Ido and Hugo, as evidenced by her ignoring Ido at the motorball pit.

I agree with the above two posters. The earlier chapters had my hopes up, but the last few have disappointed me.

Damascus Steel is quite the concept, hoping to hear more on that!

I don't like where this is going. I agree with the people above, last few chapters were disappointing along with this one. I didn't find motorball interesting. Hope Alita will get back to how she used to be.

So Alita didn't go to Zalem like I thought she might, but instead a month passes as Ido is looking for her and he ends up finding her as a new player in a game called Motorball. Alita has chosen to move on from her former life and is trying to forget about Yugo and Ido as well as putting her berserker body in storage. That's disappointing. She even chooses to ignore Ido when he yells out for her. She's not the sweet Alita she was at the beginning of the manga.

One thing I really liked about this chapter was the mention of damascus steel and her blade being forged from that technique. I thought that was really cool since I'm a huge fan of bladesmithing/blacksmithing and the art of knife making. So definitely some bonus points for this chapter despite Alita's bratty attitude toward Ido.

Ahlala, that's the moment where I realized that there was a risk that Ido's presence would probably fade away from the manga. But at the same time, the "evolution of rollerball" was exciting enough to ignore it for a time. (and I kind of liked Shumira and her brother)

Shmila and Jasugun... weird transcription in the new french edition. Are those characters names coming from some particular word or name? or are Jashugan/Shumira random syllabes ?

Oh no. Gally está en su etapa rebelde, y se volvió corredora de Motorball.
