I really have to question all the 5-star reviews. Are they friends of the translator, or have they not read many novels before? This is a big disappointment for me. The synopsis makes it sound like a mystery drama, where he has to work with a Regressor to thwart the apocalypse. What the author actually gives you, instead, is a self-proclaimed smart character (who's actually an idiot--the first thing he does upon meeting a girl he knows hates the State is to impersonate a State officer, and thus earn her ire) babysitting three other ret*rds. We have the Regressor, who, despite living through 13 previous apocalyptic lives and thus should be shell-shocked and a lot more mature, acts like a s*upid child. The vampire, who, despite living for over a millennia, is also a ret*rd. And lastly, an actual s*upid dog who's just there for fanservice (I don't mind fanservice, but she serves no other purpose). The one piece of mystery the author has going for him, the impending apocalypse, is pretty much spoiled by chapter 20 with the Regressor's flashback. So that mysterious element goes out the window. The dialogue is constantly interrupted by the MC's own thoughts, so what could have been said in half a page will take five.So what are we left with? Well, not much. This might be one of those "it gets good 500 chapters in, bro, I swear, " but I'm not sticking around for that.
