My Fiance Keeps Trying To Raise Me Chapter 3 Discussion

So from what I've gathered the story is basically about the protagonist who is stuck in the form of a child and is to be married to the duke or something, and the rest is your basic 'outcast princess marries into dangerous duke family, and eventually tames them all and destroys her family that threw her out before. Its the fact that (from what I've gathered) she would build a relationship with the ML in the form of a child, and the synopsis implies that the people around her would also treat her like a child. And that's just...... really weird. I've actually seen one or two novels like this before, one of them with pretty much the same plot as this and the other similar to this but its the ML that's stuck in the form of a child. It kind of seems like this specific stuck 'stuck in the from of a child' is sub genre within a sub genre within a sub genre type trope. I read the other novels that I mentioned before, and I had to stop reading because it just felt really weird. I'll continue reading, maybe the author will somehow figure out how to make the ML not a pe*o?

And I know its kind of hypocritical to judge this novel when there are thousands of novels with the MC transmigrating/reincarnating as a child and they devolved feeling with the love interests when they were an adult in the body of a child. And all I have to say to that, is that that always also kind of made me uncomfy, I just kinda suppressed that and tried to choose novels that don't show much of their childhood. It's just its kind of hard to ignore the childhood love novels when their so entrenched in the genre.

The reason I really draw the line at this and not other novels that have the 'MC reincarnate/transmigrate as a child', is because I don't really consider that ACTUAL g*ooming because it's fiction. NOW I KNOW HOW THAT SOUNDS, I'm not saying that because something's 'fiction' it cant be morally held accountable. What I'm saying is that the author never intended for the MC to 'groom' the love interest. Fiction is a controlled environment that's created by the author, 99% of the time the love interest isn't falling for the MC because of manipulation that occurred during childhood. The author controls why the love interest fell in love with the MC. And also sometimes, intentionally or unintentionally, the author will seemingly downgrade the protagonist's emotional intelligence and kind of make them act like an actual child even though their supposed to have an adult mind. And if we compare that to this novel it's totally different. In this novel the ML is a grown adult who seems to be aware that the FL is actually an adult just within the form of a child. They would be developing a relationship while the MC is in the form of a child, and 'presumably as the synopsis suggested' he would tend to treat her as a child as well. So their relationship and interactions would be built on being an adult and a child, but somehow their supposed to end up in a romantic relationship??

The reason I just went on a rant just now comparing this novel to 'reincarnating/transmigrating novels as a child' novels, is because I was trying to defend such novels like those from being compared to this novel, That's all.

But I will try not to judge to much considering I only read the first chapter (I'm aware I went on a 3 paragraph rant, throwing this novel under the bus), and like I said before, maybe the author will somehow not make this pe*o-ish. And just be aware, all things I've stated about this novel were the things I've gathered from the synopsis, first chapter, and novels similar to this. So all things I've said about the plot of this novel is mostly an educated guess (but to be fair with how copy and paste, predictable this genre is I don't think my guess is that far off. No shade ofc) I will continue reading and I'll update this later whether I'm right or wrong about this novel.

Also I'm kind of high at 1:30 AM on a Tuesday night so if there are any fallacies in my argument, blame it on that.

Edit: So I randomly remembered this existed and I went and read the rest of the chapters that came out since then (only 2 chapters) and all I have to say is, 'peak mediocrity'. I can't really comment whether or not this novel still got those pe*o vibes going on, cuz I'm only up to chapter 3. But I don't think it really matters cuz I think the translator might have dropped it anyways, so whatever.

Coincidentally, I'm also high at 2 AM editing this
