[collapse] is hilarious. Gotta love sl*t shaming about book characters. Most of it is talked about in the past tense and it never becomes pointless drama. It's actually handled very well and adds to the story. This is a more mature novel and not just because of the s*x scenes. Not everything is roses and sparkles immediately, but it also wasn't dark and depressing. At its heart, this is a very hopeful story. The author struck a good balance about addressing the psychology behind behaviors (that we do see in the real world!) in a thoughtful way, but still making it entertaining and such fun to read.The novel is from the MC's perspective so we do see the development in his thoughts and feelings more clearly, but the author did a wonderful job of relaying the changes and growth that the ML went through. The characters were not flawless, but that's what made them interesting and even the side characters had some complexity. The author clearly did their research and the translation was amazing, truly one of the best I've read. I really enjoyed reading this novel overall, and yes some suspension of disbelief is necessary since... you know... omega verse.As a reader of many many books ranging from total tr*sh literary classics, I give this one a full thumbs up!
