I grew to like this story, mostly for the cuteness of the child and my hope to finish the story, but to the end I find the MC insufferable. He has low self-esteem, which is fine, but he bleeds that onto his husband and child. He often worries about only projecting a perfect image, to the point where he second guesses showing love and affection to even his family on camera. He lies, all the time, in the name of a “greater good”, when really it comes down to his warped sense. It’s really difficult to get through this novel, almost every time I have to take an extended break is because the MC is sooo very unlikable... even when he gets somewhat better and becomes slightly tolerable, he then does something to mess it all up.I am at side story 65, and he has done it again... made ML feel guilty about something he has been pondering by throwing out strong excessive excuses just to deter him.. and after deceiving in that faction he think, “oh good, I spoke strongly enough that ML won’t ask about it again”... it’s really agitating.
