SOS Chapter 2 Discussion

                        This chapter is pertaining to “That Sweet Organ Song”, which is the second story in “S.O.S”.



Im not surprised there’s no forum for this short manga collection but I’ll be the first to say this chapter made me tear up. It gave me Titanic vibes honestly. Anything to do with disasters always make me emotional.




Setsu most likely lived a life where she did not enjoy the (forced) arranged marriage, and god knows what behind the scenes. It’s very clear this girl was traumatized from losing Shotaro. Shotaro could be interpreted as the love of her life or a catalyst to live in his honor. This is why I feel like the comparison between this and Titanic is so evident. The arranged marriage is unfortunately the downfall and she could not live on in Shotaro’s honor. Seeing her depressed at 90 years old is so sad. I can’t even imagine living this kind of life. I hope she can be at peace now that the organ was found in 1995 where Shotaros song is played on TV for everyone across the world to hear.
