A really unique take on an oversaturated troupe. This novel follows our middle-aged protagonist who recalled the memories of his previous life who lived in an environment of survival of the fittest. He realized that he was a minor villain in a novel he read in his previous life and makes the decision to survive by sticking with the main characters.Sounds half-decent.But there's more. I can't spoil it but the series is very good at diverting your expectations. Characters mesh incredibly well together, and the two protagonists have a unique relationship that isn't seen in the sea of 'transmigrated into a novel' stories. Also, no romance, which is always a plus in my book.One thing that was a little jarring for me was the slow-paced beginning, but it really took off at a certain point. (Currently not enough translated chapters though.)
