It's a novel full of clichés, and chuuni stuff, and that's exactly why I love it. It's so fun, full of all the things I like. The protagonist, Karami, is a smart, humorous and eccentric character. Whenever he talks all seriously and formally, you just know that deep down he's grinning to himself. All the things he finds super cool and fanboys over are all things I grew up with, and is just so relatable. It's like he's really speaking my language. Spoiler
Imagine him trying to convince himself that 90% of gamblers quit just before they hit big on a gacha and ends up losing all his points? LMAO, I'd do the same.
[collapse] He is a bit of an unreliable narrator in a way, so he might not explain the full story or say what he truly feels until the very end.In a medieval era fantasy world we have, A witch maid, SpoilerMirabelle, the Abandoned Witch. A cute innocent girl in a maid outfit with abandonment issues... who could possibly destroy the world.
[collapse]An elf, SpoilerAlfia, the Eternally Suffering Elf. A useless hikikomori NEET older sister who's a drunkard. I just love her playfulness and the moments she tries to be cool but then her clumsiness takes over.
[collapse]A gumiho, SpoilerRin, the Fox who Brings Misfortune. A sly, flirtatious and shameless fox that isn't afraid to use her charms to seduce her master.
[collapse]Assassin's guild, secret passwords, badass grandpa, the Church, paladins and priestess, and the Magic Tower? Sign me up, I've read them before, and I'll do it again. Each of the girls are loveable, crazy, and charming in their own right. I love watching them slowly open up to Karami and how they gradually become more obsessed. The way he heals them from their traumas, and we see their persona fading away, revealing their true self.At the time of this review, the first arc has been translated and is available to read.If you want a unique, original masterpiece and have high expectations for a work of art, this might not be for you. It might not be a masterpiece, but I wasn't looking for that in the first place. It's a guilty pleasure that ticks all the boxes I like.If you like obsessive girls, yanderes and degeneracy, this is for you.
