Cat Shou X Dog Gong. It's cute, but not my favourite dynamic. The fluff and teasing was fun but only works because gong kind of becomes s*upid in love, which isn't my preference. The first half was mostly light brainless fluff. The misunderstandings were cute, but not that satisfying to create the heart twinge feeling; it was more like 'if they just talked to each other...' 'why are they being such idiots'. And like what another reviewer said, the falling in love part wasn't really nuanced, it was mostly ML falling for MC's beauty and linking it to his childhood sweetheart (which was a bit iffy to me), which isn't to my taste. I like a bit more substance when they fall in love.In the later half when they reveal more about why the cat shou behaves the way he does, and the backstory's pretty convincing but not particularly emotionally engaging. But I liked how their different family backgrounds shaped their behaviour and attitudes and this was consistent throughout the novel, with some growth from both of them. The eventual face-slapping and OPness is also somewhat satisfying.Wouldn't re-read, but it's alright for a light read.
