Raising Children in a Reconstituted Family [1960s] Chapter Completed Discussion

  • #1
At first, MC annoyed me a bit because she looked down on the org owner just because she was too weak to defend herself from her husband's ab*se. I mean, how could she compare herself who lived in apocalypse era to org owner who was born in a backward era? MC was strong enough while org owner was being ab*sed all her life. The difference was huge and incomparable.

But at the same time, I also like her. The way she fought back to her husband's family was very satisfying to read. And she didn't hesitate to get divorced, something that rarely happened in that era. I thought with her modern thinking, she would also persuade other woman with the same abusive husband to get divorced just like her but surprisingly, she didn't do it.

Spoiler

She knew that her condition was different from other woman in that era. She could easily get divorced because:

    • She wasn't the org owner
    • She didn't have any love towards her scum husband and his family member
    • She didn't care about her so-called maternal family
    • She had a space who could provide foods at least for years so she and her children wouldn't starve to death
    • She could defend herself with her martial arts skill so she wouldn't be afraid of getting into a trouble. She could also protect her children

But other woman in that era was different. They took into account of their maternal family, their husband and his family, and also their children. Divorce wouldn't be easy for them.

So, MC didn't persuade them to divorce but she still taught them a little scheme so they could stand up in front of their husband and his family.

[collapse]

The story itself was very slice of life with MC's everyday life occupied most of it. There were several conflicts throughout the story but nothing too serious happened.
