MC is supposed to be hopeless and weak but he was still able to save minor characters everywhere without limitation. This break the sense of dread and dispair from the story as a serious horror. The author break her/his own story by choosing two opposite theme boat at the same time. This story might be better as a horror comedy than a serious horror theme with the current writing theme of saving people.
