Tbh the worst aspect of reading this novel right now is the occasional pictures from the webtoon that the translator likes to just throw into the middle of a chapter. I get that a bunch of you have been reading and loving the comic for years, blah blah. I haven't, and just looking from an outsider's perspective, the art isn't very good. However, that's not really anything much to do with the novel, which is really really great so far. I like the protagonist's way of enduring, and being sufficiently willing to abandon his dignity when necessary to survive, without being oh so generically 'shameless'.He is authentically portrayed as neither op, nor a scheming genius. He has some ideas, and some clues towards what might be his path to liberty and self determination, but nothing concrete, so he must take the slights, and the indignities, not because he knows his time will come, but because he hopes his time will come, and he is determined not to let go of whatever chance he might get.The cast is fairly small so far, but there are a few other promising character that suggest this won't devolve into a one man show later. So, yeah, preliminarily, I give this a recommendation. Go give it a shot.
