Unreliable narrator MC who insists that he's not a pe*verted masochistic mastermind who loves to charge headfirst into danger. He's a toned down 90s anime protagonist (think fanservice & slapstick) that becomes a self-sacrificing hero in the critical moments. So it's hard to hate him even though he gets on your nerves, especially with all those harem antics. I'm glad that the gimmick with his eyes opening isn't too over the top, & it's literally still just a bluff after a hundred chapters. He's not overpowered in a way that solves all his problems, and the story just needs less focus on collecting girls like pokemon.
