Clearing an Isekai with the Zero-Believers Goddess – The Weakest Mage among the Classmates (WN) Chapter 124 Discussion

An isekai story revolving around a pseudo-generic MC, meaning pretty timid at first, but more characteristics introduced later as backstory slowly unfolds. Pretty good story at first, I was drawn in by the unique fighting style of the MC. Unlike many other isekais where the MC gets a shitload of power and doesn't explore half of them, this guy uses his power to the best of his abilities.

However, there are several things that I do not like about this book.

1. First of all, the plot is way too "shounen" for my liking, and that has several effects on the telling of the story: it doesn't create the tension necessary for the battles, the battles are short, and the characters' traits are too simple and the dialogues are kinda, uh, cringy... actually extremely f*cking cringy. The MC probably has something to do with the history of the world he teleported to (the first hero or something), the author has kinda been hinting at them... but that doesn't stop the story from being simple.

2. The main reason I started reading this book is that there is the word "goddess" in the title of this novel. Turns out, the goddess is barely mentioned in the story. The MC only gets to meet her in his dream, and she is also barely mentioned in reality. Once the fact that the MC is a follower of this goddess is known to his friends, there wasn't really any reactions at all. Most importantly, the goddess of this novel is all kinda, uh, ret*rded. I forgot how many of them there are, but all of them are kind to the MC. It's just not believable.

3. There are some side characters that I just cannot f*cking cope with. One example is this "Fuji-yan" guy that is supposed to be the best friend of the MC. He probably serves no purpose to the novel other than an information source for the MC, and that is barely an excuse to include him so goddamn much in the novel. His ability (not really a spoiler) is he can read people's minds, and that is how he thrives in his business as a merchant. He even got to marry a noble of a city and became a noble. I just piss me off that he did nothing to gain his power, and everyone is treating him like a f*cking genius when he can literally read people's minds and emotions, like, that's gotta be the easiest life in the f*cking world. At least the MC works hard to train. Also, it's not like he's a comedic relief or anything, his just a nerd that is into dating sims, and I dislike his existence.

Overall, it's an OK story, and the translation quality and rate of releases are amazing. This is just my opinion btw.
