Must Spend the Villain’s Money Before He Goes Bankrupt Chapter 36 Discussion

I think I'm stopping here. I like the beginning because the MC was nice and the ML didn't seem insufferable but now It's getting to the point where they alone can't carry the story for me.

I've read novels that were even more mindless and boring than this one and usually the romance keeps me reading but this one....I'm not feeling it. A few things that bothered me since the beginning is the fact that seemingly MC doesn't have a family or any close friends? Not a single person contacted him in the year he's taken over this body? The relationship between him and the ML is also so sudden. One day the ML starts feeling things, which sucks because I liked how they were slowly getting close to each other. Which also bringe me to the very confusing parts that I would usually ignore if the romance was good enough:

Spoiler

So I know the ML mentioned that he has his own reasons for 'sponsoring' MC, but then he randomly kissed MC that one night in the first few chapters and then they pretended it never happened. He also very randomly started having butterflies and getting accelerated heartbeat whenever he sees the MC. He noticed that MC changed but it was never explored after that one mention.

MC is also so weird, at first he assumed they were close but once he realised it wasn't the case he started acting in a way that showed he just treated he ML like his financial sponsor but then one chapter after he saw the og MC and ML have a fight he told ML 'is our relationship like theirs' ????? That caught me off guard? That's also right before I decided to drop this

The author is sometimes removing all the braincells that the MC has just to reach a certain plotpoint, like the whole projects storyline where MC has to somehow justify his investment so he became so brainless

Spoiler

the whole 'the protagonist will get the company after ML is bankrupt so we might as well spend all the money to leave them nothing' thing is so s*upid. MC wasntthat dumb up until that point so it really seems like the author wanting to jusitfy him investing in the 'failing' projects so they can be a surprise and make money and blow up.....

He mentioned testing if the world forces the story to happen like in the book and concluded that it doesn't. so why did he not put together the fact that HE is the reason ML had an accident and his company was stolen after the accident. So MC isn't going to cause the accident => no accident => not bankrupt

[collapse]

Anyway I can tolerate any kind of brainless, no logic nonsense as long as the MC stays consistent and makes some kind of sense, as in the actions he takes make sense for his character. But this was too much for me, especially with the romance that I'm not vibing with.
