Good translation. The reason I didn't like this novel is the story started off with an interesting premise, then just degenerated into a repetitive mass of all the cool cars he's going to drive, how people are going to bootlick him, and ultimately how he's going to play cruel tricks and overwhelm everyone with the fact he has lots of money while still getting the girl. There are no true villains in the piece, and his actions are quite callous at times. It reads more like a teenager's revenge fantasy.

There is barely any relationship with his parents and old friends, which might otherwise inject some interest and colour into the plot. The MC has very little personality and it is pretty boring how he just uses his wins to socialise with the rich. Also - why don't any of these 'rich system' stories ever have the MC do anything for a charity (other than abandoned animals) ? Sad.
The overall theme of the novel is, if you have money everyone thinks you're wonderful. I could wish this was a satire, but it isn't.
