3.5 but rounded up because I like it. A bit of a different take on the usual zombie novel where the MC is definitely adjusting quickly but still a little dense about what is happening. The MC is Fu Erdie, a young woman who initially feels distraught and abandoned at the start of the apocalypse (justifiably so as almost all her relatives skipped town without trying to find her). Initially, she believes she can wait until she is rescued but still considers that she is going to die in her apartment. Eventually, she discovers that her apartment has mutated and she begins to adjust to living in the post-apocalypse. While she is kind-hearted, she is still cautious and a little wary but quickly gains allies in the form of an old woman and the ML.The ML appears to be Sang Wenhao but there isn't much romance by chapter 21. He's a metal power user who ended up being chased into the MC's community by a metal power zombie who wanted to eat his crystal core. He quickly realizes that the MC is not normal before he decides he wants to live in the same building as her. Of course, he doesn't hide his intentions and flat out says that he wants to build her trust in him and live there. The MC's apartment, and the plants inside it, appear to have mutated and begin to develop unusual abilities. As of chapter 21, the MC is only starting to think that she might have an ability as well (which is due to the ML telling her she has to have one as the zombie that chased him had decided to try and eat her as well and it doesn't go after normal people). Regardless, most of the story is about her learning about the different abilities of her plants and then working on making her home the best it can be.There really isn't much else going on in the story as of chapter 21. She's had one encounter with a dangerous power user but otherwise, it's just her feeding zombies to her plants. There were two attempts to leave her apartment in the beginning but she was scared back inside by zombies and eventually decides to just stay there. She also told her parents and best friend not to bother coming to get her. While it does make sense for her to tell them that, it did feel a little emotionally detached that her parents never bothered to try anyway.I just wish there were more translated chapters as the mtl is a little too painful to read.
