MC in cultivation novel has to "cure" FL of her poison through s*x. This is a forced plotline when MC and FL have difficulty getting together morally or emotionally or because of extraneous circumstances, and leaves a bad taste imo.
In this novel, what happens is at some point the MC discovers that he has chosen extreme yang techniques to cultivate and thus needs a cultivation partner to offset this, which should've meant s*x. This is hinted at very early, and MC manages it alone for some time until it can't hold on its own. Still, he doesn't actually need to have s*x, only to receive Yin energy through his meridians, which his non-biological sister happens to have in abundance. This gives a pretext for them to sleep in the same bed (without any abnormality) and remain close.
This gives rise to some funny situations and inner monologues from FLs, as well as giving some steam to the harem and romance. Without ever having to actually break that barrier and become r*pe or decisively tying their boats together. It actually felt like a good plotline
[collapse]The only thing I'd say is tasteless in this novel is treating the original world FL's s*xual orientation as an illness for comedic relief. Even if she was a man, her attitude in chasing women and how low she's willing to bend in order to chase them makes for some funny moments, what I'm criticizing here is specifically that her liking women is treated as some sort of disease that can be cured or a problem in need of fixing.
