I love the main character so much. A very realistic person who you feel you could meet in real life - the type of guy who seems pretty emotionless on the surface and represses everything. I like so much that you can see how he was when he was younger and how his past life broke him down and also built up his maturity - and how it's clearly informed his current self. Has clear trauma that's not played up for drama - it just is, and he slowly overcomes it. Such a layered and complex character.In terms of the complexity of the plot, I feel like the only comparable thing I've seen in BL is probably MXTX's works - which are obviously very different in vibe and character. This is more of a slow paced, plot driven, more "serious" and less funny in a way? I really enjoy it and find it relaxing. Probably the only Korean webnovel this complex I've seen is ORV - which is more complicated but has less character development, in a way. I would say this is one of the best of the best in terms of characters and character development.
