She had thought that puppetry can allow the dead to be animated and did this for the condition that they participate in the war for the Chu Empire. Who would've thought that there would be a time limit of 10 years and souls in puppets all turned into evil spirits. Madness and chaos erupted.

1) Gu Peijiu

Known as the senior sister of Lingxi's Sect's danfeng (Pill Peak) who treats MC well and suffers memory loss.

A half demonized god soul, used to cultivate the first puppet and became her puppet leader who re-gained sentience and fell in love, disregarding orders to protect her when chaos broke out. She split her soul into 2 - 1 to protect the reincarnated MC (Doudou) and another to reincarnate as a human.

Her resolve is to always stand by MC no matter what.

2) Chu Yao

Disciple of Lingxi's Sect's jian feng (Sword Peak), who will become the top disciple if she won the tournament for the 3rd time. The eldest child of the Chu clan.

Last life Spoiler

(as Chu Shi) :Abandoned and broke up with Xia Wushuang after raising forces as she prioritised the family before romance and ended up uniting the continent and ruling as the first female empress. Sad ending of slitting her own throat before a nameless grave. She regretted the choice she've made.

3) Su Chan

Spoiler

Demon Sect Master. Caused MC to lose all reputation and kin ones such as exposing her identity as a puppet master and the original body's identity as the demon sect's young altar master (responsible for the massacre of ML's family).

The last god in the world - God of Fortune and Calamity. She descended after hearing prayers from a believer after being forgotten. She doesn't understand humans, much less the MC, and watched her go down the self-destructive path despite having the power to help her. Too possessive and eventually lost.

4) Chu Yi

The second child of the Chu clan, who is plotting against her elder sister to snatch everything. Suffered from temporary blindness and Spoiler

needed the help of a certain jade.

She was saved as she resembled the friend who had sacrificed herself for MC to escape the upcoming tide. After MC was being dragged around by various characters, she kidnapped her to force her to continue the lie.

Ye Ze ('Male Lead')

Family was massacre by the demon sect. Became good bros after a fight during Xia Ge's beggar days. Became the inner court disciple of Lingxi's Sect. He has too much pride and lost control when it comes to the topic of his family. 'Bullied' to become her meal prep boy and always covering for her antics.

The author's amazing in this part - felt the sense of betrayal and a cold knife stabbing to the back. The relationship is broken beyond repair when he did the turning point.

Messy start and weak ending. As stated in their notes, I could see the author putting effort to cover plot holes with excessive memory chapters towards the end, breaking the immersion in the events of the current life.

The title is a bit misleading as some of the harem members might not be in the original ML's. He ended up being forgotten mostly like a side character after the turning point. Spoiler

Lol in the end, all either went back to take care of the clan, ascend to godhood or accompany FL.

Can definitely feel the angst and upcoming trials and suffer Xia Ge would have to face. Seriously not fond of her being thrown around like a ball in the middle to late stage of the novel. Suffocating and very helpless as compared to living life unfettered and free in the beginning.

The pacing of the novel for both lives could be better as it felt like we're also paying for the consequences of actions taken. Reading other reviews before starting and can know which one is the obvious choice out of 4 when all are introduced.
