Edit 2022: Attempted to reread the novel after seeing the manhwa adaptation, and frankly my opinion remains unchanged. After the OG!FL was let off for the tenth time for some convenient reason or another it just became intolerable. Read this if you want a face slapping novel with next to no stakes - because you're really not going to find any obstacle that'll impede the FL and ML for very long.Original review: I really wanted to like this novel as I enjoyed the characters and the premise seemed interesting if a little predictable. However I just couldn't handle the writing issues after awhile. You can really, really tell the author was writing by the seat of their pants for this novel. Plot points like the FL being good at gardening come and go in the blink of an eye and when characters aren't essential for a scene they might as well not exist.I can forgive the overt power fantasy aspects and even the fake 'in*est' plotline because they're fairly common in the genre. I can even forgive the story for being bland in places because, again, that is common in the genre as well. However when I'm constantly being thrown out of the writing because the author didn't seem to have a concrete idea of where they wanted to take the story, let alone mapped it beyond each individual chapter, then I have to tap out. There's only so many times I can roll my eyes at bad writing before I lose interest.The rating is only as high as it is because it's clear the translators worked really hard on this project and I don't want to disparage their efforts. You guys are the only reason I made it as far as I did before giving up.To anyone else looking to pick up this novel be sure to turn your brain off while reading it.
