Love this. I'm not normally into school life stuff but the characters are so well done. All about friendship with a confident female lead. Even potential rival love interests can be treated as true friends while making intentions clear. Fantastic in that something the inherently involves secrecy (hiding your gender) as it's main premise is all about being open and honest with your feelings, having bad/unhealthy feelings is okay and learning to deal express them in a healthy way, being rejected is okay too

. Interesting in that it seems to start off with fast romance but actually is a slow romance, as of ch 82 they still are not together and ML still isn't open to MC about being a guy

- complex magic or high fantasy worlds, this is mostly just an academy story, magic plays a small role so far

- high drama, face slapping, back stabbing, this drama is light hearted and fun ex. Spoiler

around ch 77 the 2 mls end up publicly fake dating each other in their floundering attempts to compete for the MC

- pushy/over bearing/ dominant ml

a big part of the story is the FL coming to understand feelings, what it is to like someone, different ways you can like people and still care about them, and that pretending to like the ML at first with ulterior motives was wrong/ harmful to both of them (all done without overly dramatic crying scenes or artificial forced conflict, story is so well written)
