3.9 and 4.1 stars. The novel is bordering on exceptional, and just good. You'll see what I mean once you jump into the story. The novel is primarily about an MC who goes back into the past with the help of his mentor. This isn't really a spoiler since it's covered during the prologue. The MC coming from a serious, noble family-- is untalented. He was abandoned because of his talents. He also was a little douchebag fallen noble until he became a disciple of his master. This also isn't really a spoiler since it's covered during the prologue. Anyhow, all this gives you a vague idea on how the story might be, right? But it actually has a unique plot in which the MC is grown into. The reason why I said why this novel is teetering on the edges of exceptional is because of the missed opportunities to make real, emotional connections between the reader and the character. The MC definitely suffered in his past life, it would have been great to see some of that suffering apparent in him now. What it does good in is a little deeper within the story. In fact, it's a part in which will make you immersed within the character's adversity. It's within a certain fight scene.Anyhow, we can only hope. But from I've seen so far-- I wouldn't expect this story to carry emotional undertones.
