It's very stimulating... for my appetite. This novel pairs up cooking, mystery solving, and ancient intrigue in a way I have never seen before. The original MC was the descendant of a criminal who became royal maid and died in the palace. A modern woman took over her body and passed the palace survival mode. When the story began, she just got out of the palace.Through some twists and turns, she became a cook in Dali Temple (a judicial agency in ancient China governance). She had to satisfy government workers' appetites, got embroiled in various cases, and struggled with life-threatening incidents. What's new here is that she did not actively seek to solve any cases, except for the ones that involved her family's past. She was pretty focused on her own career as a cook. The ones who went everywhere to solve cases were Dali Temple officials. However, she almost always got dragged in to help them one way or another as soon as they knew how competent she actually was. While reading, we'll be hungry for both delicious foods and the next chapters at the same time. Unfortunately, it's still ongoing.Well, salute the translator. Please keep it up till the end!
