I love the white lotus/ green tea counteratack trope. It makes every scene a comedy.

I was enjoying this up to chapter 54 when Spoiler

a bunch of peerless masters of the arts & medicine show up and call the MC their master in front of the emperor at a banquet

[collapse] it just kind of broke my imersion to have the MC be so set on playing the pig to eat the tiger (pretending to be weak & helpless for revenge) only to have all her efforts ruined like that. It also seemed a bit strange how much reverence the Emperor gave to the whole farce. Thats the moment the MC when from mysterious secret boss to showboating mary sue in my book

Hot and bothered! This book consumed me throughly! I had the feeling I was a voyeur myself as I could picture the vividly described sexual encounters. Even the violent scenes called out to that macabre side of my sexual desires that I could never act upon but only fantasize. Better than 50 Shades!
