Was thinking that this is an amazing book, a solid 4-4.5/5, until chapter 184, then the author goes and starts complicating things for absolutely no reason.Big spoiler, and I really mean big so read at your own discretion.Spoiler
He finally meets up with the girl he likes and the rest of her party. They made a deal that he would join them after getting stronger, because at the start he was a weak as they come. He spends over a year getting stronger, finally finds them in some far away city, only to have the girl (who really wanted him to join the party mind you) deny him and have him jump through loops for absolutely no reason, the loop being "make your own party and advance until you are as strong as our party and then you can join us."
So basically she expects him to spend god knows how long making his own party, catch up to them, and then abandon his party to join them? Isn't that just idiotic?
[collapse]Non spoiler version: He sets a goal for himself, then after a very long time of hard work he finally reaches that goal, only for the goalposts to be moved in a ret*rded direction for absolutely no reason whatsoever, and now it feels like we are back to square 1...Unnecessary drama to spice up the plot I guess, but I hate that approach it's just lazy in my opinion, just throw in drama and you don't have think of new plot points for a while, while the characters keep running in circles.Anyway the story is fun, I feel that the author focuses on the wrong things at times (for instance 2 whole chapters focusing on him shopping at a store, buying god knows what, he never says, and talking about how efficient the queue system of the store is) but a fun read nonetheless, up until chapter 184 that is. I'll continue reading it, and update the review if things change for the better.
