Honestly so much better than I was expecting for an ex-tr*shy R19 ML rehabilitation plotline - it's truly transformed a gross tragedy into a healing novel.Original tr*sh ML is very hard to connect with the current ML, who is a sweetly obsessed cutie who can't hurt MC at all. Maybe the biggest similarity is his irrational jealousy, but he very quickly lowers that red flag & it's just funny to watch him fret around instead of frustrating.MC initially compared ML to a lost child, and I think for once that's actually right. ML was never raised by his two narcissist 'parents' - honestly just a s*erm donor & a btchy womb not even worthy of being called an egg donor. ML literally said he survived just to give them both the middle finger. That he was living on just because his death would make them happier. He was hella emotionally stunted because no one ever bothered to treat him as a person instead of the f*cking insane monster heir, and he expected to kill a woman & die as a f*cking insane monster. Because that was the only role models he was given & traumatized by from the age of 6.I don't wanna spoil it too much, but MC is the only one in the whole novel who sees him as what he is, a very lost child who was just struggling to survive without knowing how to live. Much less how to be kind, & how to love. But MC somehow teaches him all of that by just being a silly girl with a 6x higher EQ than your average female protagonist. She shows him how to be a human by laughing & crying & eating & fighting with all her might, living her life to the fullest every day. And just by being herself, she gives him hope in a future he never thought possible - a future as a kind man with a loving wife & a real family.Her ability to calm his madness might seem op at first, but the greatest threat to her life was never the ML's madness. So she ends up in nasty, near-death situations all the time with only her wits & her sturdy body to help her, and it doesn't feel like their happy ending is handed over on a silver platter like some novels tend to do for their protagonists.Overall the story is both sweet & spicy & just what I wanted out of a R15 novel. Lonely singles be warned though - you will be made to feel even more alone by their happy supportive loving & healthy couple snusnu dynamics. And you will get invested in their happy ending way too fast. 5/5 for an obsessed ML novel.
