I'm enjoying this novel a lot so far! There's a good balance in the characterization, I think, where the MC isn't too OP or too ridiculous like some transfiguration novels can get. The translation is.... odd in places, though, and often has me going "is this edited MTL?"For example, they call the MC "King" when he should be a Prince (or possibly a Duke) since he's the brother of the Emperor. I suspected it was a bad translation of 王爷, which sure enough it was. Another part that stuck out to me as very odd was the MC supposedly writing down the parts he found important in a conversation when it was a talk happening over a meal- and sure enough, the CN says 极了下来,which goog translates as write down but also means (and more importantly, contextually means), just to note the important bits (i.e. making a mental note to oneself). This does make the constant patreon adverts at the end of every chapter much less savory for me, but does explain to me how they can claim to have up to 24 "advance" chapters available to Patreon subscribers. I think I'd be less annoyed with the adverts if there was a break between the text of the chap and the advert, but there is none usually and the text just continues to the advertisement.Anyway, this is just to say- if you are reading the translation perhaps take it with a grain more salt than you typically would (or should) as to the definitivity of the text. Since there are definitely some glaring issues I see that go beyond differences in translator interpretation.
