I didn't regret reading this story, but neither would I have regretted not reading this. There were some enjoyable points, and the writing was pretty decent (the translation was quite good), but I feel that there is no way I would have finished this novel if it wasn't so short. Even as it is, I became bored halfway through extra 2 and stopped reading (almost at the finish line! I told myself, but still couldn't keep going).I really liked the humourous internal monologue and the occasionally nifty/genre-saavy methods that jingjing used to further the favorability. The scum abusing was ok satisfying.Unfortunately, none of the romance was convincing -- I seriously couldn't tell why any of the MLs would fall in love with the protag, and I was unconvinced by the main pairing. The only reason the main pairing could possibly work is because the ML Spoiler
already knew and liked the MC due to watching her journey before this particular world
[collapse] and because the ML was hot enough that his face basically seduced the MC. Literally none of their limited interactions in the scope of this story convinced me to ship them. Or anyone else, for that matter. Basically, I couldn't feel emotionally connected to any of the characters, least of all the MC and ML, even though my reading empathy is usually pretty high. Thinking retrospectively, perhaps this was a side effect of too much snarky internal dialogue (even though I liked the sass and humour. Go get that bag, queen!).Finally, narratively speaking, there seemed to be no real reason why the MC had to come into this world in the first place, since she was basically following the original book's plot with a few changes to make the FL look good. It felt kind of similar in concept to reading a OC-insert fanfiction where there is pretty much no change in plot, and is basically canon with an OC in it. Maybe that's the job? But what's the ultimate goal here? Still unsure. Maybe it's mentioned in the extra that I didn't finish. But probably not.
