Totally, extremely, wonderfully smutty and spicy. Its technically BD*M (very surprised there isn't a bd*m tag, or a sad*st tag, or literally anything along those lines) and there's hints that the ML will eventually take it up a notch, but so far it's focus is on extreme humiliation and shame play. Which is by itself already really spicy. Usually humiliation kinks are included as a mild side dish to traditionally "heavier" kinks, but this story has humiliation front and center and expands on the shame to make it really intense and heavy on its own. Plus, it's safe, sane and consensual. The MC has a safe word and isn't going along with anything because of emotional manipulation or fear or debts or obligation or anything along those lines, she's participating because she wants to. There's even aftercare every time, dude. It's truly a treat and super refreshing to read among all those books that make the MC participate because of crippling debt or unescapable circumstances or intimidation.
