I dropped this novel twice already, only to pick it back up right away. As a novel, the story and writing is pretty bad, but for a fan fic, it's a little good. However, honestly the whole novel is set up so that you are just reading for the main plot points. And these are what the first arc had set up. I think the first arc was pretty good, and it set up the whole novel. The arcs after that the quality I'd argue significantly dropped for the most part.Although the main plot was good, everything else was poorly done, especially paired with the mtl editing translation. You were mainly reading for:Spoiler
- Kuina- In the first arc, the MC was set up with a tight nit relationship with Zoro and Kuina. Although he somewhat changed her fate, she suffered a coma. You proceed to read about 300 chapters till she finally wakes up, with a very underhyped dull way that the whole novel up to this point was built towards.
- Straw Hats- Unsurprisingly, the straw hat interactions are a big selling point. Not being set up with them right away as he sets out to sea earlier than Luffy, makes this constantly teased and baited. Now that Kuina main arc gas resolved, now the novels transitioning towards this.
infiltrating Marijoa, killing a celestial dragon, and escaping with s*aves
[collapse]. However, these moments were too and far between. Often times you can go 60-90 chaps without a big interesting event nor main plot point attraction taking place. However, even with that, the novel suffers 2 main big problems. The first off is the amount of plot holes everywhere related to the MC. Not only does his whole power system completely break the laws of the One Piece universe: gaining a gacha system that let's you essentially harness multiple devil fruit powers without the curse of the sea; there are many illogical plot holes MC gets away with. Like the earlier mentioned spoiler, if this happened, essentially the whole government forces will be after the MC. Even just his Mystical devil fruit of letting him swim would make him wanted for research purposes. The plot armor is too heavy, is the second main problem. There is never an effort to make grand arcs, nor spanning plotlines. Every event when needed is there to happen. Every fight is underwhelming filler content that is supported by an MC who becomes dumb @ss during important plot points.MC: "Oh you were about to beat me?! Well I have been holding onto this Overpowered card buff that has no repercussions of me equipping it anytime earlier just because I felt like holding onto it! Now I shall wreck you!"Plot armor patches were everywhere, and forced plot points were even more numerous. The MC powers and actions completely break the world of One Piece. The vast majority of the novel is underwhelming filler content paired with mtl editing translation.Oh I forgot to mention, the most important selling point to make this novel stand out, which is his system gacha system, makes very little sense and very imbalanced. But worst of all, the "infinite universe gacha system spanning powers of multiple franchises" are really just a bunch of outdated franchises from early 2000s, with most pulled cards not being known at all, like tiny old ps2 Japanese video games only played in Japan. With at least some being known like Bleach, which is doubtful that people who aren't adults would know. Bleach was before my generation... and I'm a college student rn
