Primer, the TL's quality is all over the place, and it's quite obvious some confusing passages are probably more sensible in Japanese. There's effectively no quality control/editing before some of the translated chapters are put out. Not to mention the ubiquitous your/you're-they're/their/there problems, there are instance of auto-correct weirdness. "What the f*ck" got turned into "What the French Toast" at one point, and I've seen what must have been "dumb looking" show up as 'dumbledore' too. This only shows that I can't be sure whether or not some of the more arcane chapters are quasi-nonsensical because the author is just inconsistent or if it's just TL badness.

It's generic but it could have been saved. Up until somewhere around the moment the MC gets vast recognition for his deeds, it's could actually be quite charming at times. Then it got edgy. Bad edgy. It got so bad that it actually kept killing any semblance of immersion; at any such 2EDGY4U moment, you can't help but pull back and try to figure out what the heck is wrong with the author. At some point, a supporting character was unceremoniously dumped because it was obvious she would be incredibly disapproving of the MC's future antics. She was, in other words, too normal to keep as a follower. Obviously this happen for 'a reason' in-universe but the move is the most transparent character reshuffle I've ever seen in fiction. Even My Immortal was never that bad.

Speaking of normies, they are apparently nonexistent in this Other World. Everyone has mental issues. ALL OF THEM! I'm only exaggerating a little, there's maybe two or three characters that could pass for well adjusted. Heck, the main 'girl' suddenly develops something like a secondary personality effectively out of nowhere, only for that to be resolved somehow and not actually be explained. Everything that isn't explained immediately will not be explained further down the line, period.

There are a lot of things that go wrong in this, and I could probably list a hundred other items that are just heckin' wack, but if you've made it this far into my review... Well, thrust me, alright? Don't.

P.S. Maybe the manga will streamline some things, but reading the novel really killed it for me. I don't think anything but a complete rewrite of everything post-first-town would be enough.

I'm so disappointed in the developement in the relationship between Auri and Logan, and that all that is happening after their book is done. Like, we can't follow their course anymore. And their characters just ended the relationsship.
