Dropped. Don't recommend it.This novel turned out to be a disappointment with its uncomfortable age gap and strange relationship dynamic between the main characters.Details provided below, but without revealing any major spoilers. Spoiler
The age gap between the main character and the male lead felt off, with the MC being only 18 and the ML being 6-8 years older, seeming like a significant difference in life experience. The MC appeared to have no prior life experience and was naive, while the ML was written as a mid-30s man who had it all together; he was self-sufficient and knowledgeable, which seemed strange in contrast to MC's lack of experience.
And their relationship dynamic resembled that of a teenager with his father.
[collapse]The constant infantilization of the protagonist by the male lead, along with dubcon scenes* and a quickly fading plot, made a dreary and monotonous read. Additionally, the one-dimensional side characters and excessive feminization of the main character did little to improve the overall experience.Dubcon scenes:SpoilerTheir first two times and another instance where the main character was noticeably drunk.
[collapse]I tried to think of some redeeming points, but I couldn't come up with many.I personally liked reading about the period depicted in the story and found the beginning to be promising, but even with a great translation, it wasn't enough to save the novel. I gave it 3 stars because I stopped short of hating it completely.
