Fleeing the building with an impending sense of doom, an aura that the World created causing panic, they got away. I still hold presumably because Dio allowed them to however. Once the sun was seen setting, a feeling was created. That Dio would be on the hunt for them; it's now the other way around. However, it’s not that simple. Joseph being intelligent and being a master of running away plans to escape, fight with the tactical advantage and with that, fight with more information. He does have a stand specifically for gathering information after all. And while Kakyoin wanted to fight as well, Polnareff was the one to run off alone. This hasn’t turned out good in the past and I was irritated with him, because Holly is the one who will die if they don’t fight in time, Joseph is the one that ought to worry. Avenging Abdul and Iggy doesn’t have a time limit on it. But his emotions and values when it comes to combat got the best of him.
Joseph bought a car with his obscene amount of money and Dio comically twisted the arm of a body guard and pulled some teeth, taking Senator Wilson Phillips hostage. Quite a difference in their methods, but I did love how goal oriented Dio was here. There was no messing around, he wasn’t necessarily excessive either. He was brutal but to the point, giving this important man a mission which, to be honest, I couldn’t imagine Dio driving himself around. That and seeing him walk around in a yellow outfit with a cape in streets of relatively mundane looking people makes me laugh. Polnareff and Jotaro are pursuing Dio which makes this encounter an interesting way of meshing three different parties together. For the time being, we got a sweet silent bromance moment between the two as they came together. That said, Kakyoin and Joseph are not the straight forward fighters. It makes sense that the attacking team is, and the utility users are on defense, but at the same time a part of me wishes it was split: Joseph / Jotaro, Polnareff / Kakyoin or something.
