I Became a Drunkard in a Martial Arts Novel. Chapter 14 Discussion

Liking it so far, and I appreciate the way the MC handled the ladies who 'betrayed' him. It was incredibly mature compared to most of these kinds of stories. Obviously I'm very early on, this is written at ch 14, but I'm hoping it keeps up the current quality.

Spoiler

Like the other reviews said, the original MC loved two girls. One was his fiancee who supported him despite him not living up to expectations of his clan and the other is his childhood friend who decided to get with his brother. The fiancee decided to get with the number one person of their year in the academy because she wanted to move up in the world and the MC wasn't able to do that for her. The childhood friend who he seemingly loved like a sister started essentially ignoring him so she could spend more time with his brother. He decides to just let both go, no longer having anything to do with them. The childhood friend was just getting together with his brother so he wished her well and the without the fiancee's support the original MC wouldn't have been able to mentally support himself so he decides to end their relationships there. The ladies both feel guilt for how they treated the MC, though neither (up to this point) wants to get back with him. The way it's done where he bluntly tells them that they no longer have anything to do with each other felt refreshing after so many series using the trope and having unnecessary face-slapping or making characters utterly pathetic. It just is what it is and everyone will go their own ways to look after themself.

probably doesn't actually deserve 5 stars but I've been enjoying it.

I can’t wait for more chapters to this book. It’s really getting good. I hope it’s updated soon.

Forget about any expectations you may have for the characters. Just go into it knowing that Muse always has a plan and she never disappoints. Loved every nail bitting minute of it and wouldn't change a single thing. Congrats on another completed masterpiece!

The story is not bad but a bit disturbing. She doesn’t behave like a child and he behaves more like a mate. It is not too out of line but still. I was hoping she would grow up but that ending is not favorable. The last ch should have been the beginning of the sequel instead. The writing is okay.
