I Became a Drunkard in a Martial Arts Novel. Chapter 22 Discussion

A decent story held back by failing to execute on any of it's plot points.

The core aspect of the story is well written and while it doesn't do anything spectacular there's also no large flaws. MC is brought into a martial arts novel and proceeds to do the usual MC thing of becoming the best with their prior knowledge of the novel.

The issues come up with the variations the author has decided to make to the story. These being that MC needs to drink heavily to become more powerful and that the novel is a ntr/regret style story.

You'd assume with a plot point like drinking to get stronger the story would lean more towards comedy, but for some reason its played completely serious. It was to the point where I had to double check the tags and make sure it was in fact tagged as a comedy. This entire aspect of the story is treated like it's just another normal cultivation method with almost no repercussions for MC being effectively an alcoholic.

The second problem is that the novel the MC has been transported to is a ntr/regret style story. Again you'd assume this would mean the heroines would be rather detestable allowing for a sense of satisfaction when they fail and the MC succeeds. Yet the heroines are portrayed as having made reasonable and fair decisions in their abandonment of the MC. I'll give the author points for realism, but that kind of approach does not play well with the melodramatics that come with these types of stories.

In conclusion, the author should have just stuck with the basics instead of adding on unnecessary aspects that they had no intention of following through on.

Do not and I repeat do not even waste your time or money in this crappy book. It is a complete disaster with no real plot or story. The description of the book is no where like the actual book. Dee is the most abused mentally, physically -and sexually  character on any book. Brendan is crap

it's a bit confusing, regarding the places. Toronto is within the province of Ontario, so why separate as if it's a different country, with 6 hours flight??? and the age of the boy Ronin doesn't match at all.

Absolutely loved this story of Valentina and Alessandro. The story is so sensual too but in a classy way. 10 times better that Fifty Shades of Grey.
