I was trying to figure out what put me off with this novel (and other rebirth stories) after reaching the middle of it, and honestly, unless someone has endured ab*se it's difficult to understand how this is so fluffy. I may be biased, but if I returned to the past, even if I exacted my revenge and everything it would still not erase my scars, my thought process, and my feelings. You grow up and formulate your character according to these experiences. And, even if the MC here only realised the truth at the end of the of his life it should still have some bigger impact.In any way, the novel lacks any maturity to portray the heaviness of the topics it discusses.What I mean is the level of ab*se described in the novel and the character of the MC is not on par. The author made the MC in the beginning, have extreme hate, be deceptive, calculating etc. But after the MC gets with the ML we have a childish MC, pouting here and there, behaving like a "maiden" in love with a little BD*M thrown for the hell of it, which leads us to the ML's character which again for me it's so contradictory.You can have indeed, a tough guy making jokes, being funny, etc. But, how he is described by others and how he is around the MC, it is as if there are 2 different people. Just feels off to me.Also, of course, we have the too-OP syndrome as I call it. Both MC and ML are too good at everything...Lastly, either the writing has issues or both, I and the translator, found the free Chinese version where at the end of the text, the scene cuts off abruptly, and the next chapter goes to another scene. There were multiple chapters, I felt the text was missing.PS. The translation also has many grammatical issues.
