I definitely hit the jackpot the MC is so original. I love the characters, the plot and the drama and the world building so far. I haven't laughed so hard in so long. This author really knows how to set the mood for humor. The words that come out of the main character's mouth are so smart and make me lmao. At first I thought he was just another op protagonist that's has a misfortunate familial background with a pretty face and clever mind for counterattacking toxic schemes and great face slapping abilities and lots of ambition for stirring up drama. He kinda is except that his ambition is small and that he's so original. He's the real deal of a cold hearted straight innocent man not knowing what the tong xin world is. I feel like I hit the jackpot with this because this MC or uke has the characteristics of the usual danmei seme just that he's broke.It's not just the MC that I like I also really like that the author give more depth to the side character even mini canon fodders or irrelevant bystanders like the the relatives on the antagonist side that has some brain to object human cruelty and have the power to condemn their own people for acting s*upid. Reading a lot of dog blood novels is satisfying but can be really tiring and gives paranoia that its only the MC, ML and the people they are close to that has a brain and the rest of the world are just dumb or selfish, greedy people that'll end up dead or suffer a bad ending.
