With Mariah’s response to her plan going ary, it seems clear that while luring them away; going so far to lead them to lead them to power lines, she does have a huge ego. Her method of defeating her enemies happens to fit that ego which I suppose is what stands are for. With use of Hermit Purple to track her down, and some cool panels of Joseph and Abdul being bros, this was fun. I especially liked the scene of everything attaching to Joseph as he refused to stop charging. It was evocative of Jonathan playing football with Dio after the first time skip, getting tackled by like 10 guys and refusing to stop. That’s the raw will power and muscle mass of a Joestar for you. To remark on other callbacks, I liked Joseph refusing the ultimate technique of running away and I liked how reminiscent him exclaiming that he doesn’t care that she’s a woman was to his first meeting with Lisa Lisa. That and, y’know, the boob inflation page.
