It’s a story that’s not as unrealistic as many in the same genre, and each character is not just one dimensional. It’s short and a decent read, I’d probably place it at 4.2 stars. Quite fast paced. It has a happy end, that doesn’t fall into the common folly of ignoring the character’s hard work for a “better ending”Spoiler
In a lot of stories like this, it turns out the love interest is a prince, and the story does try to fool you into thinking he is. However, he is instead a poor hurt guy. Ultimately, this means that the main characters goal of becoming a court pianist is actually realized, instead of her just becoming a princess. The novel did really well into breaking a lot of those tropes and not just making people comically evil
