Why are the ratings so low? It's baffling to me because this is one of my favorite stories right now. First, this story and this type of main character are very unique. The description and reviewer didn't lie it said the MC is arrogant and ruthless. Despite knowing about it beforehand, I was surprised about the extent to which he was ruthless, and I loved how his personality was consistent with his actions and words. It's very rare to encounter this kind of character, and refreshing that MC is not forced in this role simply to push a generic good x evil pairing. It also makes it more heart-warming to see MC's walls gradually melt in some ways because of his new son. The change is gradual and not a ridiculous overnight switch from evil to sweet and caring. Other than that, one main enjoyable factor is that the pacing is perfect for me, as someone who is sometimes a little impatient but willing to see through a story being well-developed. The pacing is not rushed, but words are not wasted uselessly on long descriptions and explanations that do not contribute to the story. Overall, I don't want to disclose too much of the story.
