Are all Stands this intense? I mean, this one wants to bite his .....off. Well yeah, that is not something you'd want to hear everyday.

That doll is a master of hotel room based combat.

I think Stardust Crusaders is where Jojo gets truly bizarre.  The concoction of elements in the narrative was always what one could call bizarre but it mostly worked on a set of established rules.  Loose rules but rules, we could often nod and say ‘that makes sense’.  Stands however all have their own rule set.  Unlike the 2 sources of power in the last parts, ripple and vampiric, every stand is its own thing, we can’t build expectations in the same way, it’s always shocking and it can be anything.  Even the most basic rules of stands are not always followed as seen in the monkey fight, therefore, while they have their own built in rules, they serve as their own power source.  It’s what allows stuff like these last two fights to occur and take us completely off guard.  In a sense I am worried about this because it means fights can be won with elements that were not pre-established, star finger may be an example.

Speaking of these fights, psycho and chucky references show that the body horror isn’t the only thing that’s horror-based.  These stands can be a love letter to anything Araki likes.  And while this was disgusting and tense, it was also hilarious. Tying Polnareff up under the bed as he isn’t the smartest guy, having just tied his wound up with dirty underwear, Devil was able to shoot shampoo in his eyes to blind him.  That made me laugh.  I had wondered why Devo told Polnareff of the stand and his name as Avdol knows so much about stands that could hurt him.  But with the sick pleasure he takes in terrorizing his victims, it’s clear that he loves this kind of thing and since no one knows how the cursed people die, it means he can afford to be a bit arrogant.

Outside of that we got a new general rule, that some stands need the user to see what the stand does to utilize them.  I’d wager this is kind of arbitrary, it seems Hierophant Green can slide through vents and check pipes when Kakyoin has no reasonable way to share that vision, but Silver Chariot would only be able to swing wildly when it’s stand user cannot guide it.

P.S. It just hit me that with ripple still in the story through Joseph, it may be implicit that he is healing the party off screen!  It's definitely a perfect excuse for why the cast can take so much damage and be fine the next chapters.

The puppet stand should had just waited a bit so he could kill Polnareff in his sleep smh.

Come on, Jean-Pierre! You really didn’t noticed something fishy about the doll right away?

Polnareff called for first aid then fell into another trap. Getting tied up and having shampoo in the eyes with the bed pinned over him sounds like what would happen in a rather kinky night out.

The poor bellhop got his face carved off and it's more than a dangerous situation for Polnareff especially because his Stand can't function well without vision.

I guess Polnareff should've called the others to come to his room immediately instead of trying to go up himself when he's in grave danger

So the Stand can only see if the user is seeing too. I liked the puppet, is a cool Stand.
