Have you ever started reading a novel with 1000+ chapters then get bored of it, I find that it happens a lot.

Anything that surpasses 2000 chapters are absolute trash(there are very few exceptions tho).

it all depends on when it gets boring, if it's boring from the start, I just read about 10/20 chapters and drop it if it doesn't get better, though sometimes I drop them when I feel that some of the characters do stuff that is too stupid to be acceptable, and by too stupid I mean too stupid

Yeah. It's what I experienced with Against the Gods, ATG... as well as Chaotic Sword God and Bringing the Farm to Live in Another World... and Dragon Marked War God
Generally reading up to 600 chapters gives you a good way to predict on if the novel is a hassle or not.

If the novel isn't repetitive vomit and the storyline still captivates me....I will read a long online novel until the end.  Black Belly Miss is the only CN translated novel that, so far, falls into that category for me~

However, the length of a story doesn't matter, it's all about how well the author can captivate my attention and engage my feelings/intellect.  Unfortunately, when translations are slow or incomplete, you can't guarantee a satisfying read from a long novel.
