Aside from being an ero novel with an interesting plot and an arsenal of well rounded characters, the novel Pure Love X Insult Complex (plic) explores many aspects of life and gives thought provoking ideas into the readers mind.
But the aspect this novel explores the most is none other than the concept of Love.
What is Love?
Is it a must to be loved back by the other party in order for it to be Love?
If so, can it truly be called love? Or is it nothing but just self-love, where you cannot feel love if he/she doesn't love you in return.
The author of the novel gives the definition of the true "Pure Love" through the novels male protagonist Yoshida.
Yoshida is a person who loves and has no desire to be loved in return. While solving the problem with Megumi he expressed his philosophy of Love. Yoshida said that he will keep on loving and supporting Megumi even if she leaves him and marries another man. He only wants to see Megumi live happily and expects nothing in return. He will stay satisfied with only loving her to the end, even if gets nothing in return.
Now I know that Yoshida and his family are all broken and mentally unstable, but that does not deny the fact that what Yoshida believes as Love is false.
What are your thoughts about it?
