Thanks for the clarification. I had thought that the MC is the (unwilling?) sexual partner, and committed suicide. And the gong, dejected/desperate, bound MC to the system. Hmm, I haven't really read any danmei where the MC and ML really duke it out.

Just reached part where ML explained what happened to MC. ML raped MC (MC was drugged, which made ML very excited, and ML can't help himself . . . but ML said he regret it bc he didn't get MC at that time, so i guess ML not go all the way and only molest unconscious MC??), but there's a guy who found out about it and ML stunned him. Bc the traces ML left on MC body couldn't be concealed so ML using that guy for MC to blame/kill (ML knows that guy also has feeling for MC), MC ended up kill the guy, but ML did not expect that the guy would bind MC to the system like @kiara8 said
