It was really cruel of Yan Ping to pretend to go on a date with her in order to get her father's secret military seal, but until that point and other than this one time, I don't this actions were wrong. He repeatedly told her that he didn't like her that way and she still kept publicly showing her affections towards him. It wasn't like he sought her out to bully her. She wouldn't leave him alone and he became harsher with rejections over time. He has a right to not like her.

Did anyone else find the 2nd Male character's anguish completely satisfying? I sure did. I mean he never tries to really get to know her or understand her efforts. It's only in hindsight he's all "lets get married and be perfect couple." Well you asswipe she has been trying to tell you forever she's a chick you just wouldn't hear it. Also you make me nauseous. You think its ok that you marry her thinking you'll heal her with the power of love... WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN REALLY KNOW HER. SHE'S IN DEEP PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA. YOU WANT TO LOVE SOMEONE WITHOUT TRYING TO UNDERSTAND SOMETHING DEEPER. FOR ALL YOU'RE INTELLIGENCE YOU SURE ARE DAMN STUPID. Is it obvious I hate Yan Ping?? I hate him.

I actually don't like either the ML or 2nd ML. Both have their flaws and mistakes that can and can't be forgiven. Yan Ping never realize her gender and since then, he doesn't have equal or a balance opportunity in love. Yet for him to treat her the way he did, that is a lack of skill and thought. I think we demand too much from Yin Ping, yet he could have responded much better. The emperor, on the other hand, took advantage of her sorry state. I think she deserves to leave both men, live the life she wants to and slowly fall in love with someone who will lover her for her.
