Who the HECK would want to transmigrate into this kind of novel??????? I feel so bad for the FL in the original story, the impression I got from MTL was that Mu JingYuan was in love with Bai YiHan for a lifetime and FL was just there to comfort him. In return, she got to be the president's wife. Married a guy still in love with another man, but is rich and thus that's a happy ending?? Wut 

The sweet sweet fluff comes from the "I'm 10k times glad I'm not reading about his original fate" and the "I'm so happy you guys have the chance to get together". It's like nostalgia lol. Great but painful.

Ok, the chapters are short and am mtl'ing & very busy IRL but will do the best I can.
First off, the setting is modern day china and the city they are in has five major families; Bai(mc's family), Mu(ML family), Yan, Shen and Qi. ML and MC families were best buddies and the Mu's passed away leaving only ML. MC's families promised to take care of ML ,which they did and so they grew up together.(No dog blood drama on that front) ML had to take over his family business at a young age which made him one of those cold CEO types to everyone except MC.
One other thing, the sister doesn't really love the ML and it's mainly an appreciation thing and she's like, since I have to marry why don't I pick someone I can get along with and is safe and won't be a pain...he even informs her(post rebirth) that the one he loves is her brother and she tells him that if they marry, he can watch over him as a brother in law. After the whole sleeping with him thing and the attempted suicide and explanation, they break it off but they do it in such a complicated manner it involves Shen shao(1st son of other major family) who is madly in love with the sister(bai yuejing?) and they are trying to convince the MC that the whole marriage was to get Shen to confess his feelings so that he doesn't feel guilty for "stealing his sister's man) So the MC tries to get a feel for Shen (who is in on the whole thing) and he even fakes his car breaking down so he can hitch a  ride with shen but once they are in the car and driving off, MC's driver drives his car off and all this is visible in the rearview mirrors. MC is panicking while shen is internally going "aaaaww, how cute"
Note: Everyone and their grandma knows that MC is the apple of his family's eye and ML is his #1fan and knight in shining armor.
The one villain I have run into so far is the transmigated girl who is all kinds of crazy. Self entitled and a major pain. She had read the book(book FL) and was expecting everything to go as planned but didn't account for the fact that the people she had read about were 2d but IRL,those people can't be calculated and won't work as she assumed. Eg."She didn't understand that the parents in the world should not be as compliant as her parents, and she would give her all the good things in the family. The money they earned was all except the necessary life. Give her? Why did the woman’s parents ask her for money? ! And why is that damn cheap brother still not going to die?" "  Feng Qun is dead, so who will kill Bai Yihan, Bai Yihan does not die, how she is a female lord?"

Tbh this novel barely blipped on my angst radar, but then I regularly read tragedies where everyone dies and stuff.

You'll feel bad for MC's pain from his previous life, but fluff from his current life tends to smooth it all over. The surprise angst for me was ML actually -- there's this part at the end (an extra?) where he 'dreams' he went to see MC's dead body at the autopsy table. His emotions were just really OUCH and then he married the FL (who is not a transmigrated b*tch in that first life) because, as she figures out, he's obsessively collecting what's left of MC. There really wasn't much, since MC's family had pretty much been destroyed after bankruptcy. So he's living a life worse than death, then he wakes and sees MC sitting on the sofa and eating oranges. Then he cries. When ML 'wakes up,' he has no idea why he was just crying. It was like 1st life ML was able to put down his pain (somehow) through 2nd life ML. 

It's because the original story (told from FL's pov) only mentioned the ML staring at a pile of random things, ML wandering around at night, ML forcing several companies to go into bankruptcy, but it never mentions why. MC is just someone who gets mentioned as backstory maybe once ever 50 chapters. It's the trope of "The one that you thought a hero is just a fraud because look at all these details that get glossed over or ignored *jazz hands*".
