@Dragon_Reader - Huhuhu, the SA of the series ML (Jim) was a black panther, the MC's (Blair) SA was a grey wolf. There was a dream sequence when the ML attempted to save MC's life, and their SA merged. Other than that, I don't really remember their SA having any contact with each other. Mostly, the SA's form symbolises their nature and personality, as well as status as Sentinel/ Guide.
As the series's a normal het series, the 'pheromones' of certain women drove the ML up the wall, there were two separate cases that the MC had to pull him back from going all caveman-style on the women. Spoiler alert, it was physically painful for the second case as that woman managed to kill the MC, who was saved after the aforementioned dream sequence, and the ML like, forgot that and nearly had sex with her on some beach. You're welcome to watch it, but the series is super old, and rife with stereotype about men being macho, etc., which the MC certainly is not with his hippy family background and flower-boy appearance. The fandom's still alive in AO3. I went back to read occasionally.
